Definitely the closest restaurant to the park, just at the corner of Gage and Main, specializing in classic fish and chips. Readers Choice award winning and open since 1930! Also offering other classic pub fare.

Gage Park Diner

Donairs @ Gage

web: http://www.donairs-at-gage.ca/

location: 1127 King Street East

A quick jaunt down Gage towards King this colourful stop offers yummy (and sometimes messy) Donairs, and donair burgers, poutine and pizza. Good value, yummy food.

Buddy’s Roadhouse

web: http://www.buddysroadhouse.com/

location: 1360 King St East

A classic bar and grill with great food and live music. It’s a very close walk from the park. Their roasted chicken is cooked over a wood flame spit and my favourite is the deep fried pickles!

About 15 minutes walking

The Cannon Coffee Co

web: https://www.facebook.com/cannoncoffee

location: 197 Ottawa Street North

Our favourite coffee place with lots of variety of brews and some to-die-for sweet treats. They offer some killer breakfast choices and amazing Americano.

Southern Smoke BBQ House

web: http://www.southernsmoketruck.com/

location: 201 Ottawa Street North

The pit-to-table restaurant brought to you by the team behind the famous Southern Smoke food truck. Serving up beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken and even vegetarian options.

Cafe Limoncello

web: http://www.cafelimoncello.com/

location: 226 Ottawa St. North

My favourite restaurant in the city, it’s a bit of a walk (Ottawa St. North, past Cannon) but totally worth it! Classic Italian fare and great breakfast served late into the afternoon. The antipasto platter will have you coming back time and again. Other must-try options (according to me): penne alla vodka, meatball sandwich, caprese salad and the marco polo pizza.

Black Sheep Snack Bar

web: http://www.blacksheepsnackbar.com/

location: 187 Ottawa Street North

Something unique and delicious, a great local bar for cocktails, craft beer and world wines. Great for after the park closes.
